Up and Coming: Lebanon Donn

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I go by the name of Lebanon Donn. I am a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and audio engineer. I began making music in 2014 while I was in college in Richmond, Virginia. When I first started out, I made music as a solo artist while also being a member of the Hip-Hop and R&B collective One$ide alongside my good friends who go by the names, Say Solos, TeddyWhoa!, and Cavaan. As a group, we released songs such as Yes I Am, Rocks, and Family. As a solo artist, I have released a handful of singles independently via Soundcloud. I relocated to northern Virginia in 2016 where I am continuing to hone my craft.

How would you describe your style?

My style is very versatile. I draw from some of my biggest inspirations from artists such as Kanye West, J. Cole, Drake, and Lil Wayne, but I have my own sound. I will always prefer rapping bar for bar on a track, but I do some singing as well.

Any new music dropping soon? If so, when?

I’m currently working on my debut full-length project, “Welcome To Forever”, which I am looking to drop sometime in early to mid-April, so be on the lookout for that very soon. Two songs from that tape have dropped already, “Waves Interlude” and “Future Hiatus.”

Where can our readers find your music?

My music is available on all major platforms including AppleMusic, Spotify, Tidal, Soundcloud, YouTube, and other streaming services. Just search my name Lebanon Donn, and you’ll find me.

If you could hang out with anybody from the past for a day...who would it be and why?

I would probably say, Steve Jobs. I would spend my time asking him how he did the things he did, how he used his time, how he came up with new ideas; basically, learning his genius and work ethic so I could improve myself.

Where can the people come support you? Any shows or performances coming up?

We have a few other things in the works right now as far as performances, but more info on those will be announced on my social media following the release of my project.

Where would you say you find your inspiration for new music?

I get a lot of my inspiration from my life experiences. Depending on the mood I’m in I typically make that style of music.

What are you most excited about being featured on UD?

There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to exposure and performing. I’m always excited about being able to share my music with a new audience. It’s an opportunity to gain a new fan, and every new fan is an opportunity for them to tell a friend about my music. Word of mouth has always been an important part of expanding our base. Also, a lot of my songs are upbeat and can get the crowd going. Feeding off that energy is amazing. Lastly, networking with other like-minded artists who will also be performing creates an opportunity to collaborate with someone new in the future.

If you had any superpower, what would it be and why?

I would choose time travel as my superpower. If I had this power I would do things like go into the future and get the next days lottery numbers. I would also go into the future to find out the cures for sicknesses and bring them to the present.
