Up and Coming: Rivesh

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I'm a goofball man, I'm always joking around. It's not always good, especially when I'm around people that usually don't joke around and are always just... boring. They look at me like I'm crazy. Im just an average 20-something, having fun, excited to see what the future holds. Enjoying the journey day by day. Making music, making ends meet, trying to help my parents retire. Trying to see different places.

You have your first EP coming out soon. What's your inspiration behind it?

My life. Seriously, if you really listen to this album it tells the story of my everyday life. Things I see, feel, and hear on an everyday basis.

When and where can our readers expect it to be released?

The Butter Tape will be available on all platforms, iTunes, Spotify, your fridge, wherever you stream your music. As for a release date, there is not one in stone but it will be late this spring. Maybe early June. I might go Detox on ya'll for a bit. Just kidding haha.

If you could hang out with anybody from the past for a day...who would it be and why?

Man if I could hang out with ANYBODY from the past for a day.. probably my late grandfather who passed away when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. I would love to get a chance to sit down and get to know him. He was a brilliant man.

Where can the people come support you? Any shows or performances coming up?

I'm doing a show in late May in D.C. opening up for Kyle Bent but I'm moving to LA shortly after, so I would appreciate anyone for coming to the show for sure! More details to come soon. After that, people can show love by just putting me on the playlist and playing some stuff while rolling one up really.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would it be and why?

Any animal in the world. Man, I bet a lot of people said a lion, cheetah, or some type of bird. Man, I want to be a Golden Retriever. I'll be fed, in a nice neighborhood, fat backyard to run around it. I don't gotta fight other dogs. Man, that's like making it in the dog world.

How would you describe your style?

My style is wack. Hahaha nah, I'm playing. I honestly don't know. I try to stay mellow, taking influence from several different genres and molding them into an audio experience that equates to my lifestyle. My fashion sense is pretty laid back as well. It probably ties in together somehow. I got fresh kicks but they aren't clean if that makes sense. My music is more of a 'step into my shoes, this is how I see things' rather than 'look what I got.' But 'look what I got' music is LIT! It's just wack when I make that type of music haha.

What are you most excited about being featured on UD?

This is like the 3rd interview I've ever done, so I'm excited to even get this type of love. I appreciate ya'll for real and I'm excited to network my music through UD. It means a lot. Besides that, I'm excited to have fun and meet new people. I've already met people through UD that I kick it and shoot the shit with so it's all been a good time.

You're a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Man, I'm poo brown in the crayon box. Cause I'm brown!! Shoutout Nav. I'm out here trynna make the poo brown crayon popular man. No one every slides the poo brown crayon out to color. That shit always sharp.
